Talking Keeping Babies and Moms Healthier with Christina Dent

Back in November, I joined Christina Dent for Episode 97 of the End It For Good Podcast, marking my second conversation on the show. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside this team in multiple ways – including supporting their speakers at their large 2023 event – so returning for this episode felt like a continuation of an important, shared mission.

The End It For Good Podcast explores what it looks like to move away from a criminal justice approach to drugs and toward health-centered solutions, starting at square one and inviting listeners to learn along the way. In this conversation, we focused on the complex and often misunderstood realities of prenatal substance use, examining how stigma, fear, and system barriers impact mothers and families. We also talked about the power of compassionate care, bonding, and investing in families in ways that support both moms and babies. These are the kinds of honest, curiosity-driven conversations that help shift perspectives – and ultimately, systems – toward healing rather than harm.
