I was honored to join Caroline Beidler, MSW, on Circle of Chairs, a podcast that brings thoughtful conversations about healing and connection into the world. This episode felt especially meaningful to me because it reflects so much of the work I do in helping people see that healing, recovery, and belonging can take many forms.
During our conversation, Caroline and I talked about my journey and how my experiences shape how I think about care and community. I shared how storytelling, theater, coaching, and creative expression have played a central role in my own process of healing.
One of the things I believe most strongly is that recovery should not be forced into a single mold. Too often, systems focus on control rather than dignity, or on compliance rather than connection. I want healing spaces to be safe, respectful, and rooted in humanity. I want people to feel seen and understood, rather than judged or minimized.
In my conversation with Caroline, we explored:
- How recovery can look different for different people
- Why it matters to meet people where they are
- How storytelling, theater, and creative expression have supported my own healing
- What it means to create spaces that center safety, dignity, and connection
This episode is for anyone who has ever felt unseen in spaces meant to support them. It is for professionals who want to embrace complexity rather than quick answers. It is for loved ones trying to understand pathways that may look unfamiliar. It is for anyone who believes that healing should include belonging.
I’m grateful to Caroline for holding such a meaningful and generous conversation. If you want to listen to the full episode of you can find it wherever you listen to podcasts.
